FIRST NIGHT

This story makes me cry every time I read it…

This author truly paints in words the lovely and life changing journey of becoming a mother. Feel the excitement when those two little lines appear on the pregnancy test. A mother’s love for her baby begins long before he is even born. The bond between a mother and her child is unbreakable. Even as children grow up, a mother always cherishes the memories of those early days of motherhood. No matter how big her baby gets, she will always love him.

This story makes me cry every time I read it, as I remember my own experience of becoming a mother. This is a perfect baby shower gift for that mom-to-be in your life.

Imaginative and Delightful!

First Night sweetly explains the love and bond of mother and child. First Night is a beautifully written book about the love between mother and baby from the first moment of pregnancy and forever after! My children are 34 and 42 but this book brought back such sweet memories. The bond between mother and child is forever.

“The text is kept concise, while the font plays a bit with the illustration for visual fun. It does make a nice read aloud and flows well. Some of the surprises hit better than others, but all keep the read enjoyable. While this read is suggested for the youngest audience level, I'd knock it up a notch toward ages 2 to 5, since several surprises are a bit more complex. It does make a nice bedtime read, especially with the lovely twist at the end. “

BEST BOOK FOR MOMS

I absolutely adore this book. The illustrations are so warm and sweet, and the story itself literally brings tears to my eyes when I read it to my daughter. It just captures everything I feel as a mother--all the things I couldn't even put into words before. I tell everyone I know to purchase this for Mother's Day, mom's birthday, baby showers--anything. It's one of my all-time favorites, and I cannot recommend it enough.

What a powerful story to illustrate the creativity and the resilience within children who learn differently! The way Sasha Saidman writes from Sam’s perspective and the charming illustrations from Lola Svetlova capture the many emotions Sam experiences throughout her melonade stand journey.
